The Second Polish Championship in the naval wargame Gods of War: Togo concluded on Sunday. \u2764\ufe0f<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Twenty players competed for the title of best admiral, coming from all over Lower Silesia (G\u0142og\u00f3w, Wi\u0105z\u00f3w, Wroc\u0142aw, and \u017berniki Wroc\u0142awskie), Bielsko Bia\u0142a, Gorz\u00f3w Wielkopolski, Pozna\u0144, Sosnowiec, and Warsaw. The tournament was organised by Bolter.pl, the game\u2019s publisher, along with GM Boardgames.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was an extraordinary and exciting two days, during which each player fought a total of five battles. The winner secured victory after the fourth battle, but the fight for second and third place continued until the very end. However, the competition was not the main focus\u2014it was all about spending time with a fantastic group, enjoying the models of our ships, and the Saturday evening celebrations. \ud83d\udc4f<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Players competed using five different fleets: British, Japanese, Russian, Spanish, and the latest, German. The fleets varied significantly, from lists containing four larger ships to those with as many as eight lighter vessels. \ud83d\udd25<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The final standings (top three places) are as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Karol „Ginger” Lema\u0144ski (24 points) \u2013 Kaiserliche Marine. \ud83e\udd47\ud83c\udfc6
2. Franciszek Paprocki (19 points) \u2013 Nippon Kaigun. \ud83e\udd48
3. Rafa\u0142 „SigThorn” Wo\u017aniak (19 points) \u2013 Nippon Kaigun. \ud83e\udd49<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The winners received fantastic prizes \u2013 in addition to our ship models (each participant received two of their choice), they were also awarded beautiful 1:350 scale models (Chinese battleships from the 1894 war for 2nd and 3rd place, and the battleship Schleswig-Holstein for the winner) as well as trophies \u2013 ship wheels. Inside the winner\u2019s wheel, there was a small piece of the actual deck from the battleship Mikasa, the last existing pre-dreadnought (the organiser received it as a gift during one of the visits to the ship).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each player-participant also received a special prize: a model of the SS Warrimoo, the ship that, at midnight on December 31st to January 1st, 1900, positioned itself at the intersection of the Equator and the International Date Line. As a result, the bow of the ship was in the Southern Hemisphere, in the middle of summer, while the stern was in the Northern Hemisphere, in the middle of winter. What\u2019s more, at the bow, it was already January 1st, 1900, while at the stern, it was still December 31st, 1899.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ship was simultaneously in two seasons, two different years, two different months, and two different days\u203c\ufe0f\ud83d\ude2e<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the players who attended the championship and encourage you to participate next year (as well as in other activities, such as other tournaments, the new league season, historical battles, and others, which we will announce soon). It was wonderful that you dedicated two days of your time and came to Wroc\u0142aw \u2013 it was an honour for us to host you\u203c\ufe0f \ud83d\ude4f<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A huge thank you to the organiser and publisher of the game, Bolter.pl, who provided us with their space for the full two days, where we could enjoy excellent drinks, coffee, delicious toasts, and cakes.
