Jego plan to zniszczenie odizolowanego korpusu genera\u0142a Portera, kt\u00f3ry znajduje si\u0119 na p\u00f3\u0142noc od rzeki. Tymczasem g\u0142\u00f3wnodowodz\u0105cy armii Unii genera\u0142 McClellan nie zdaje sobie sprawy ani z mo\u017cliwo\u015bci uderzenia na Richmond, ani z zagro\u017cenia jakie nadchodzi z p\u00f3\u0142nocy. Nie decyduje si\u0119 na wzmocnienie Portera, ani na uderzenie na zach\u00f3d.
W konsekwencji korpus Portera jest osamotniony, chocia\u017c broni si\u0119 na \u015bwietnie przygotowanych pozycjach, oddzielonych strumieniem i po\u0142o\u017conych na wzg\u00f3rzach. June 26, 1862. Robert E. Lee began a 7 days of battles campaign that will determine the fate of Richmond and the entire Confederacy. In an extremely risky movement, he sent most of his army to the north of the Chickahominy River, revealing the way to Richmond for the Union. His plan is to destroy the isolated corps of General Porter, which is located north of the river. For this, he plans a joint strike with General Jackson’s forces approaching from the Shenandoah Valley.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, General McClellan, the Commander-in-Chief of the Union Army, is unaware of either the possibility of striking Richmond or the threat coming from the north. He does not decide to strengthen Porter or to hit west.
Consequently, Porter’s corps is lonely, although it defends itself on well-prepared positions, separated by a stream and located on the hills. However, the Union line has a weak point, and Porter can not expect too many reinforcements to arrive … It’s 27th of June, 1862.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Will the Confederacy succeed in crushing Porter’s corps and change the course of history? Perhaps Porter will endure until the evening and retreat through unbroken bridges, or, on the contrary, his effective defense will make McClellan send him reinforcements?
